§ 1.20.010. Code violation penalties.

  • No person shall violate any provision of this code. Each person shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day during any portion of which any violation of any provision of this code is committed, continued or permitted by such person and punishable accordingly. In addition to the penalties provided herein, any violation of this code shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be abated as such by the city. Violations of this code are hereby classified, and punishable, as follows:

    A.

    Infractions. Except as provided in subsection B of this section, any violations of this code shall be an infraction. Every such violation shall be punishable as provided in the general laws of the state for infractions.

    B.

    Misdemeanors. Any violation of the provisions of the Title 8 (Land Use Regulations) of this code shall be misdemeanors and punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year or by both such fine and imprisonment.
